Last week my dining room was taken over by boys night, playing poker & other terrible card games (yay!). This is where I usually craft and store all my supplies as it's a nice big room, with a l-o-n-g table. So if I wanted to craft I needed a new plan ... hello new Stampin' Blends and Blended Bloom (sadly, a retired stamp).
It was easy to stamp a few flowers, grab my Stampin' Blends and head to the lounge room where my daughter was watching yet another Harry Potter movie (again?). There I happily blended the flowers to perfection, one petal at a time.
Then it was a matter of fussy-cutting the flowers and waiting till morning when I could have my dining room back and make these beautiful cards. My question to you is, which do you like best?
They are all so bright and happy with the sparkle of Shimmering White Embossing Paste.
I think my personal favourite is Lovely Lipstick, but my family is divided. What do you think?
So, in the spirit of spreading kindness I challenge you send a card to someone you love. Mum, sister, partner, friend it doesn't matter - I bet it makes their day and you'll feel good too!
Making the gifts and getting everything ready took a bit of effort, but my army of two (my 9 year old daughter and myself) enjoyed every task. Except the housecleaning, with hubby out with an injury it was left up to me to vacuum - I hate vacuuming. However, it was well worth it all to make Mum feel special, her guests welcome and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.
I am also proud of the birthday card I made, check it out on my instagram, facebook or pinterest page.
What do we gift? Vouchers, gift cards, fun adventures that we make up! So our friends and family collect great memories they can cherish always. This little birthday boy has a voucher to the cuddly farm, parents included. I know they will appreciate the day out, enjoy themselves and take lots of great photo's. Everybody is happy, no 'stuff' needed - just a beautiful, heartfelt handmade card.
Well it all started over five years ago. I had been attending classes at a fabulous demonstrators house with my Mummy (it was our version of a great night out). We got to meet ladies who shared our love of paper craft, hang out, chat and make pretty things. At one of these evenings I remember looking over at the demonstrator thinking "I could totally do that".
You see I was a stay at home Mum, my darling child was a great sleeper and keeping on top of the house work didn't exactly stimulate my brain. If I joined Stampin' Up! and started holding classes at my house then all my friends would come over, have a blast and I'd be getting discount on the products I loved. And that's how it all began.
Five years later I am still holding classes, meeting new friends and enjoying every minute of it. My newest challenges are writing this blog, keeping up with my team (life gets busy right!) and growing my business - I hope you'll come along for the ride.
